BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad, told reporters, said: "His remarks are deplorable and we condemn it.
Karkare said that Singh called him a couple of hours before he was killed in the terrorist attack of 2008 and told him about the threat of Hindu organizations like it was investigating the Malegaon blast case in which some Hindu groups are allegedly involved.
"He should not compromise the security of the country, and he is the one who went to Azamgarh (in Uttar Pradesh) and brought much criticism, and Congress had to apologize," said Prasad on Digvijay Singh.
Singh had gone to Azamgarh where many of those involved in the September 13, 2008, the Delhi serial bombings belonged to and spoke to their families.
