Adult film actor who tested positive for the HIV virus has called for mandatory condom use in adult films and better control of health for singers. Derrick Burt, 24, identified himself with the Los Angeles Times as an artist, who tested positive for adult industry Medical Foundation health clinics in October. Previously, he was known as a patient Zeta.
Burts, which is held in direct films like Cameron Reed and funny movies, like Derek Chambers, described a call he received from the staff of the clinic on October 9, which sent fears through adult film industry in California.
Hospital staff told him that they wanted to perform further tests and notify the actors he has worked since his last negative test result on September 3. He was informed that these entities will be placed in quarantine and testing.
When Burt returned to the clinic on October 23 to review the results of the second test, he said what he said the clinic was traced her HIV infection to someone he performed a scene with which they described as “a known positive.” Clinics would not be the person the actor because of patient confidentiality.
Burt said he believes he
may have contracted the adult shoot.
Despite the expense of Burts, clinic issued a statement last month that said: “Patient Zeta contracted through private, personal activity.”
“This is totally untrue,” Burt said Los Angeles Times. “There is no possibility. The only person I had sex in my personal life was my friend..”
The clinic did not respond to requests for comment.
He said he wishes he knew more about the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases in the industry.
“Creating a $ 15,000 (£ 10.000) for porn is not worth your life,” he told Los Angeles Times. “Artists need to be educated.”
