Knicks Wins Duo To Kevin Love

At one point in the third quarter, Kevin Love Michael Beasley leaned on the bench and whispered in his ear.
"I'm going for 30 tonight," said Love.

With the love that has only seven points in time, Beasley looked up and said: "Thirty-what?"
Incredibly, the love was talking about rebounds. But do not stop there.
Love took a franchise-record 31 rebounds and scored 31 points, first 30-30 games of the NBA in 28 years, and the Minnesota Timberwolves overcame a 21-point third quarter to stun New York Knicks 112-103 on Friday night.
"I just got a good way of thinking that everyone was mine," said Love, who scored 23 points and 24 rebounds in the loss to the Lakers on Tuesday.

Love grabbed 15 rebounds in the third quarter only to the will of the Timberwolves to victory. Moses Malone was the last player to do so with 38 points and 32 rebounds for Houston from Seattle in 1982.
"It seemed that no matter what he did he was going to go get the rebounds. I do not know what to say," Love said sheepishly. "I was impressed. I do not know what to say to be honest with you."
Beasley had 35 points and six rebounds for the Wolves, who took his second straight victory by the two players that are being advertised as the ultimate building blocks of the reconstruction project.
"Thirty years from now I can say I was on the floor while history was being made," said Beasley. "It's great. And we have the victory. Just an amazing thing to see and be part of."
Danilo Gallinari scored 25 points, but only seven in the second half for the Knicks, who lost their fourth straight game and had no answer for the domain of love in the second half.
The Wolves trailed by 21 points early in the third quarter when Love took over. He scored 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Minnesota, 23 in the period.
"Kevin was an incredible match," said coach Kurt Rambis. "Those numbers are stupid. I do not know what to say."
With Amare Stoudemire in foul trouble throughout the game and Ronny Turiaf with a sprained left knee, the Knicks were simply dominated.
