Today Facebook celebrate Wear Purple October 20

On Wednesday 20 October, people are wearing purple to show support for adolescents who killed themselves because of bullying against LGBT community.
Spirit Day was created by Brittany McMillan teenager earlier this month, and aims to get people together and show LGBT youth who face intimidation of a large community of people who accept and support. He also paid tribute to those adolescents who killed themselves in recent weeks. The color purple is used because it symbolizes the "spirit" in the rainbow flag, a symbol of LGBT pride.
Many people also are taking to social networking sites to show their support. GLAAD has made an application that will make the pictures on Facebook and Twitter purple in honor of the day. Many states also reflect similar sentiments, explaining what the day is and encouraging others to participate.
