The Consumer Product Safety Commission, which announced the recall Wednesday, said the four children were trapped inside the stroller and strangled. The deaths occurred between 2003 and 2005.
The products being recalled are earlier versions of the Quattro Tour Graco MetroLite strollers and transportation systems, all manufactured before 2007 and distributed by Graco Children's Products Inc., of Atlanta.
The CPSC said that if babies are not properly attached to strollers, they can slip through the opening between the tray of the car and the seat bottom - where they can be trapped and be strangled. The commission also said it was aware of five reports of children trapped, resulting in cuts and bruises, and a report of a child who has difficulty breathing.
