As you can see in the video Shane Hmiel was moving around the track when something went terribly wrong. His car "bicycle" on two wheels, and consequently lost control slaming on the outside wall of the track, before it overturned several times. The cage was not strong enough to withstand the force of impact and was crushed.
medical helicopter arrived shortly after the wreck, and by air Hmiel to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. According to the bite site and bound, suffering from severe compression fractures of the neck and back and serious head injuries.
Shanes father, Steve, gave an update on FoxSports.com about your child's condition. He said:
"Head looks promising, heavily sedated so hard to tell about awakening. There is no feeling in his legs, but can improve."
In a biography, Shane Hmiel (often misspelled, Hmeil) was born on May 15, 1980 in Pleasant Garden, North Carolina. His father is Steve Hmiel is a NASCAR crew chief for former and current Director of Competition Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing. At one point in his career was a NASCAR driver, but after several tests of drugs are not banned the organization of life. He is the co-host of the race-TV show with the theme "3 width of life." He was involved in a horrific accident on October 9, 2010.My thoughts go out to Shane's fans, friends and family.
