General Electric Compnay Need Dresser

General Electric Co. signed an agreement Wednesday to buy the equipment manufacturer owned energy of Dresser Inc. for about $ 3 billion in an effort to capitalize on expanding the uses of natural gas after the discovery of vast new resources in the U.S. and abroad.
"One thing that occurs with low natural gas prices is that people use more," said John Krenicki, GE vice chairman and chief executive of GE's energy unit. "That's not necessarily a bad thing."
Dresser products include small gas engines, control valves and relief, the regulation of measurement and control systems used in gas pipelines, liquid natural gas facilities and power plants.
Natural based GE gas turbines for power generation and provides services such as water treatment and recycling for drilling oil and gas. Last week, GM announced a mobile version of its water treatment technology designed to reach remote areas of gas drilling.
The recent discovery of huge deposits of low-cost access to natural gas found deep in shale formations in the U.S. and abroad are leading analysts to predict prices relatively low and stable natural gas over the next few years. That is inspiring utilities, chemical producers and other industrial companies to increase their dependence on natural gas.
