With the mortgage crisis still in full swing, it's nice to see the new initiatives announced program to help some people with problems of exclusion possible. Fannie Mae announced today, along with the U.S. Army, a new program to help stop foreclosures expected property of men and women in service, as well as relatives of those men and women. Families facing mortgage problems after the injury or death of a soldier or a woman can request a delay in mortgage payments of 6 months if your loan was granted through Fannie Mae.
The indulgence six months will be provided by the lender, and either could be in the form of lower payments or suspension of payments in full for the period of time. This will at least allow the family to focus on more important things after an injury or death.
The vice president of the National Organization of Fannie Mae Services said the following about the new program, "Men and women of our Armed Forces have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to our country while facing unique challenges as a result of their service. No family affected by a death or injury on duty should have to face the additional burden of foreclosure as a result of the difficulties. We do everything possible to support these families in a time of need as we honor their sacrifice and service to our country. "
