Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2010

Today is the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and is a good time to take a break from reading to remember the many people affected by the disease.
A few years ago, I am a good friend, who went by the nickname MB She was fun and funny, and had a laugh, infectious. She was a woman, mother, friend. And then she was gone.
In October, The Baltimore Sun show a series of articles about breast cancer. This Sunday, we will explore the impact of the "triple negative" for cancer, a type that often strikes young women and blacks, and is particularly difficult to treat. On October 10 we will publish a special section to highlight the survivors of the Baltimore area and beyond. Other resources are available on our website.

If you want to join the fight against breast cancer, there are plenty of events and charitable organizations to turn to. (Besides reading books and products to buy.) The most famous case may be the Komen Race for the Cure, to be held at Baltimore on Sunday, but many others as well.
