Clark was last seen leaving a party at 2 am on 26 September. The body was found yesterday morning by a man planting eel grass in a pond of record.
Reports indicate that the body had been in the water for several days.
"We are deeply saddened and extend our deepest condolences to the Clark family and all who personally knew Dwight," said WWU President Bruce Shepard said in a statement to the university. Christina Jones, a friend of junior communication major and Clark, said in an e-mail to The Daily Evergreen that the money raised during the last two days by WSU students will still be donated to a Chase bank account created by a friend Clark family. The money will be used to help discover what led to the death of Dwight Clark and family support.
