Hospital sources confirmed the deaths of six people, while Khusro Pervez Lahore Police said more than 100 people have been injured.
A police officer also died in the blasts, CCPO Lahore, he said.
The first explosion occurred in the middle of the procession in Karbala AGAMI Shah was followed within minutes by two high intensity explosions of suicide in Bhaati Chowk, police sources confirmed.
Commissioner of Lahore, said that the last two explosions were suicide bombers and a leader of one of the suicide bombers had been recovered.
Relief and rescue activities kick started after the explosions and dozens wounded, including women and children were taken to various medical facilities including Meo Hospital.
Later, the participants of the procession and the angry people threw police vehicles with stones and damaged public property. A TV footage showed burning a motorcycle and furniture with the increase of the flames.
