Similac Infant Formula Recall


Earlier today, Abbott Laboratories announced they were recalling five million cans of Similac infant formula powder certain brands with the lot numbers 87932T20, 88117T26, 78208T2, 88136T20 and 90372T20.
The buyout is carried out because the company believes that its product may contain bugs.Abbott spokeswoman Melissa Brotz said in a statement that after small insects were discovered in cans of milk produced in a manufacturing plant in Sturgis, Michigan, decided to recall several products.

Brotz continued that the company has decided to cease all production in the building where errors were found and they are the ones who contacted the Food and Drug Administration to initiate the removal of 8-oz, 12.4 oz and 12.9 oz cans of Similac powder that were sold in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and some countries in the Caribbean, note that the formula of Abbott liquid is not at all part of the recall.
The FDA found that the beetles are found in the cans can can cause discomfort, irritation of the gastrointestinal tract, making the child lose your appetite if swallowed.
