Mono Jojoy Muerto


The authorities deployed a massive offensive in order to neutralize Jorge Briceno alias "Mono Jojoy" until such joint operations have killed 34 guerrillas belonging to the fronts to protect the military commander of the FARC.
In six days of continuing operations of Joint Task Force Omega has been making a fence in the departments of Guaviare, Meta, Caquetá and Cundinamarca. In the bombing and fighting has killed 34 rebels, 15 were captured and 8 have been demobilized.
Supporting Army Special Forces is the Air Force, the DAS and Police Intelligence, which has been established is that the authorities intend to weaken the security structure "Jojoy", for what they have sustained confrontations with the fronts 52 , 22, 15 and 43 have already been neutralized including four leaders of the front that are key to guerrilla movements in the southeast of the country.
The Commander of the Fifth Division of the Army, General Juan Pablo Rodriguez, confirmed that this year's operations are affecting the security rings of the head of the Eastern Bloc.
The Officer stated that operations do not stop and the information of the demobilized are being progress in weakening the support structure of the secretariat.
The authorities have made to the monitoring area of the Omega Joint Task Force, composed of about three thousand men who are supported by units and battalions of the areas in which progress monitoring of the strongest structure of the FARC in the country.
New blow to the FARC in Cundinamarca
The military said in recent fighting against the FARC in Cundinamarca and Meta boundaries died the second leader of the front 51, who had been commissioned by the secretariat to regain control of Sumapaz and south of Bogota.
The operation conducted by Joint Task Force Omega allowed to neutralize the second leader of the Front 51 aka "The Black Arturo" said to be the mastermind of the killing of two mayors of Sumapaz and burning vehicles in the department.
According to intelligence information had replaced the guerrilla alias "The Black Antonio" and was aimed at reorganizing the FARC in the center of the country.
Similarly, the commission of the guerrilla, in which six of its members were killed and three were captured, were involved in kidnappings, extortions and recruitment of youth for the FARC.
"Black Arthur" had 17 years in the FARC and had coordinated the security forces surrounding the hostages including Ingrid Betancourt freed in Operation Jaque.
