Curtis starred in over 140 major film and was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 1958 "The Fugitive" with Sidney Poitier.
The Associated Press reports that the office of the Clark County coroner confirmed that Curtis died at his home last night from a heart attack.
Curtis is also known for his roles in the 1959 film "Some Like it Hot" with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon and "Spartacus" with Kirk Douglas in 1960.
Born in New York in 1925 as Bernard Schwartz and grew up poor in the Bronx.
He married five times - most notably to actress Janet Leigh - he was the father of actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
