The Freebie ;Dax Shepard

In "The Freebie," a happily married couple with a look of stagnant sex life to spice things up according to an experiment: one night each member can freely cheat others without repercussions. Actress Katie Aselton stars stars in their own directorial debut with "Idiocracy" 's Dax Shepard. and although there are some other characters (and cameos from the likes of "Humpday" 's Joshua Leonard), this is essentially a story of two people on a couple in their most intimate and emotional moments.
So what is to film these scenes incredibly intense with her fake husband, while her real husband (the director and actor Mark Duplass, "Freebie" 's executive producer) is right next to the camera? I had the opportunity to talk to Katie and Dax on that, and about the making of this production is slightly mumblecore-ish, on Main Street in Park City at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. "Freebie" opens in New York on 17 September.
