Bowersox and Walker plan to marry next month, according to his agent.
The wedding will be the first Bowersox, who has a child 1 year old from a previous relationship and split with former boyfriend Tony Kusi morning before she took the stage with Lee DWyze for the final American Idol show performance of the ninth season in May 1925.
Bowersox While initially described his break with Kusi as a "mutual" decision based on his desire to maintain its previous "small town" lifestyle, later admitted he had surprised her.
"[It] I crash," he said. "I woke up in the morning and he just had an epiphany. I wanted a simple life, quiet and I respect that. I'm glad you told me instead of hitting it out and realize later that he would be unhappy."
The 24-year-old from Toledo, OH signed with 19 Recordings / Jive Records after the end of Idol. His first album will be released this fall.
