The reason Jones Soda Wal-Mart deal is so interesting for investors is that it will introduce a fancy soda in millions of new customers (yes, they are Turkey and Gravy soda for Thanksgiving). In addition, the deal gives the company 10% more distribution points.
I do not know if my Wal-Mart will be one of those that sells Jones Soda. 6-packs of assorted flavors are sold in 3800 stores across the country. Of course, we all know that Wal-Mart is the largest retailer in the world. Prior to this mammoth new contract for the company, Jones Soda is struggling. This is a small company, but a giant like Wal-Mart will almost certainly increase profits.
What do you think? I’m a little surprised that Jones Soda will be in Wal-Mart, but, as TerraCycle, I am very happy to see a small company has a chance to get big business and generate profits through the retail giant. I think this is the case, if you can not beat ‘em, join them.
Meanwhile, tell me what your favorite flavor Jones Soda. By the way, they have a huge site with an iPhone app.
