Writers ‘strike still going strong, but talk show host David Letterman, Conan and Brian O’ went back on the air yesterday evening. They both wore beards caveman to show loyalty to their comrades pavement pounding. The first night back on the only reason I stayed with NBC, Carson Daly to check as well. He was in the air for several weeks. Last night he was as background noise, and I heard him talking about the young singer he had heard on YouTube and other random places .. “Gabi Wilson, all!
I appeal to the TV and there is this little girl at the piano plays the opening notes of Alicia Keys “No One”. Not a hint of nerves or hesitation. It is on him. Then she started singing, verses, chorus, wah. I had to hit myself for not having a computer record of that magic.
Gabi Wilson belting out songs, as it belongs to them. Since Alicia Key high notes, low, stand the whole thing falls down, and trust to the musician who knows exactly where they want to take a song – and does it. I’m not talking about cute things your baby. She has a small inconvenience, a hint that she does more than imitate.
I am exaggerating in the slightest degree. She is a 10-year-old. There is something special about this girl.
If you do not clip my Carson, I did some searching and it turns out that Gabi was all over the place in the last month or so: she was on Maury in late November and The Today Show in December.
