The only new film opening this weekend, director
M. Night Shyamalan "The Last
Airbender", the live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon cartoon series is broadcast this Thursday. It is of interest
in men and is ready to collect good but not great $ 50 million on Monday. Boys with
anime-inspired comic book, the main audience of the film, and the elderly, fans of the previous
Shyamalan films, including "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs" may also.
Last
Airbender_Shyamalan "Last Airbender" is widely used for the summer Paramount Pictures, which spent about $ 150 million to produce images, including their last-minute move to 3-D.
"Airbender" will be shown in theaters in 1500-1600 in 3-D, most of which are shared with "Toy
Story 3 game." Because
Pixar animated film only two weeks and has more than 235 million U.S. dollars, which broke in a short time, Paramount did not play to steal most of the 900 theaters, "Toy Story" on one 3-D screen.
Even if "
Airbender" Large $ 50 million, from Monday, it would be too good to play for a few weeks will be a hit for Paramount.
"Airbender" could very well at the international level because of its
multi-ethnic cast and Asian influences, but it will not open until next week abroad.
With the wide appeal of the hit "Toy Story 3" continues to do solid business, and studios for a more adult-style "adult" and "Knight and Day" in search of a good second weekend has a total match tickets were only about the huge end of the holidays.
"I think you'll see up to a week significantly compared to last year because of the breadth of product," said Rob Moore, vice-chairman of "
The Last Airbender" studio Paramount Pictures. "They are really something for everyone."
"Last Airbender" begins with
Sokka and Qatar
(Nicola Peltz), younger brother and sister, Eskimo-like Northern Water tribe. It is every child, then the water Bender still learning to control their forces.
In the middle of the ice floes of their world, Qatar and
Sokka join Eng (Noah wrestler), a boy who looks like a child of the
Dalai Lama in an iceberg in the trap. Not only that Ang has a tattoo on his bald head with its output, as the world Last
Airbender, he pointed to the lack of Avatar, peace-loving people waiting.
Of course, do not take the fire of the nation this news sitting down, and soon enough, try two separate forces capture Eng. Super evil Commander
Zhao (Aasif Mandvi) is a stop-on-nothing type, and the young Prince
Zuko ("Slumdog Millionaire" in Dev Patel), wants to make exiled son of Fire Lord, who is indeed good again Grace father.
"Last Airbender" Kids-R-Us intentions, of course, most obviously in the movie dialogue, dull affect the conversion, which not only repeated language cartoon series, but put one in mind and back out of such children 1950 shows how "The Adventures of Spin and Marty" episodes of "
The Walt Disney in the Mickey Mouse Club."
In addition, if they keep the plot forward, nothing makes a film of the functional visual effects to make important seems to carry the 3-D, which extends very little or procedure, or even a wild fire of battle ships remembers, although the ships, which in turn , in the epic
Hayao Miyazaki. Although Ang, Qatar, and Sokka is white actors, "
The Last Airbender" reserves the Asian type of the original show, including a liberal dose of martial arts, Tai Chi, Buddhist philosophy and religion of Tibet.
