Us Senate Approve Unemployment Extension july 20 2010

Hi guys how are you let i take a good news for you,you really know this Great news for the 2.5 million Americans who were waiting for assistance, earlier today in the U.S. Senate has finally taken a decisive step towards greater long-term unemployment assistance to those who need it.
By a vote of 60-40 the Senate approved a move reauthorizing unemployment benefits for long-term unemployed, but there is still much work to be done.
Since late May, most Republicans and conservative Democrats, a few were able to kill bills that were intended to update the help.


After the final vote in the Senate, who must pass the bill easily be sent to the House, which will vote on Wednesday and it should land on the desk of President by the end of the week.
Almost half of the 15 million unemployed in the United States have been unemployed for more than six months, a record in terms of long-term unemployment since the creation of statistical data on employment was created in 1940. Almost one quarter of the unemployed has not worked during the year.
Another positive news for those who are without work is that people who missed the unemployment checks will be paid retroactively.
But on the other hand, Americans who have exhausted all weeks of benefits before the expiration will not receive money.

Unemployment Extension Vote In USA Senate 2010

The Senate bill he put forward an unemployment extension today after a vote of 60-40. All Democrats, except Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted in favor of the bill, along with two Republican senators.

Unemployment Extension Updates june 30 2010

The unemployment is pegged at 7 million people and the Senate seeks an Unemployment Extension Bill, June 30, 2010 in order to help those unemployed cope with the economic situation until they find a job. A new stimulus package failed passage in the U.S Senate since they are short of one vote. The shortage of vote is due to the passing of Democrat Senator Robert Byrd.

Seeing that situation, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Max Baucus (D-Mont.) introduced a new unemployment extension bill. The bill includes an extension of the period in which home buyers can close on a house and claim the homebuyer tax credit. The said change was already agreed in the House, among other provisions.

Sen. Baucus defended the bill saying, “Folks in Montana and across the nation are struggling to find jobs in this tough economy, and every day these benefits are lapsed is another day Americans worry how they will feed their families while they look for work.”
Baucus then invited her Senate colleagues to support the bill and hopefull have bi-partisan support, a feat that was not achieved in this Senate though. Bacaus said in his press release, “I urge my colleagues to stand with us to support American families and restore the unemployment insurance benefits that are often the only lifeline many workers have in this tough economy.”
This bill will be blocked by Republicans for sure since they are against any new bill that would increase the budget deficit.
If the Unemployment Extension Bill will be passed, it will extend federal unemployment insurance benefits through Nov. 2010, and the closing period for qualification for the homebuyer tax credit to Sept. 30. It is technically a substitute amendment to the killed jobs legislation.

Here we go again. Last night, Senators Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Senate Majority Leader and head of the Senate Finance Committee, introduced a new bill, the expansion of unemployment. It's actually not strictly autonomous: It includes the extension, in which home buyers can close on the house and claim credit Homebuyer tax changes agreed in the House yesterday, and other provisions.


"People in Montana and across the country are trying to find a job in this tough economy, and with each passing day, these benefits had expired one day, Americans are concerned about how they will feed their families while they look for work," Baucus said in a press release. "I urge my colleagues to stand with us in support of American families and to restore the unemployment insurance benefits, which are often the only life many researchers in this tough economy."


Reid filed for cloture last night, and working with Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to move the bill today, although the Republicans have repeatedly opposed any measure that increases the deficit.

The new law extends federal benefits, unemployment insurance and November 2010 and the closure period to qualify for the loan Homebuyer tax on September 30. This is technically an amendment to legislation to replace the slew of jobs. Here is a summary of what the bill:
Unemployment benefits: Reboot emergency unemployment compensation program stopped in late May 2010. The program provides up to 53 weeks of extended benefits, depending on the level of unemployment of the state. The measure is retroactive - which means that Americans who have lost their unemployment checks will be compensated - and runs through November.
