Three judges of India stated that the disputed religious site in Ayodhya, claimed by Muslims and Hindus, must be shared by both communities.
In one of the most long awaited and most controversial decision in the history of the nation, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court ruled against the claim of the Muslim community representatives in the northern city should be allowed the reconstruction of a 16th century mosque was demolished by a mob of Hindu extremists in 1992.
The site of the mosque would be divided between two groups of Hindus and a Muslim group said.
But the 2,000-page ruling ordered status quo on the religious complex in Ayodhya, in the center of the controversy - now under state control - will keep for three months.
Lawyers representing the Muslim plaintiffs said they were "somewhat disappointed" and would appeal to the Supreme Court.

Flood In Delhi 2010

The water level in the Yamuna river crossed the danger mark on Wednesday, creating a flood situation as in Delhi.

The danger mark has been set at 204.8 meters, and when the water rose above it, is submerged low-lying areas of the capital.

New Delhi, has recorded a total of 617 mm of rainfall during this monsoon season, much higher than the same period in previous years.


People living in low lying areas were trapped in the river breached its banks, flooding fields and farms nearby. Residents complained that the authorities were not doing enough to help.

"Because of the water has been released into the river by the neighboring state of Haryana, the water level in Yamuna river has increased. There is no hope of this water is decreasing and will cause many problems here ' said Faula Singh, a resident affected by the floods.

Buses near the main bus station was partially submerged while people were observed using boats to carry their belongings to safer places.

Water also entered many houses in residential neighborhoods near the river in the oldest parts of the city.

Heavy rain brought traffic to a halt as many roads are recorded water can cause traffic jams in the early hours of the morning the office.

Meanwhile, flood situation in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh worsened due to continuous rains.

The normal life was disrupted severely in many towns across Bijnor due to waterlogging.

Few houses were completely submerged in water and its inhabitants had to be rescued by the local administration.

"The water had entered some houses, their occupants have been evacuated safely. The situation is under control," said Gyan Prakash Tripathi, director of revenue in the town of Chandpur village in Bijnor district.

Chandpur resident said they were facing shortage of drinking water and other essentials. They also complained of the apathy of local administration to their plight.
