Roy Halladay

In a showcase at Citizens Bank Park is a bronze of the right hand of Roy Halladay. He holds a baseball official, stamped with a hologram, commemorating his perfect game in May.
Halladay did not allow a runner to reach base that night, and the Philadelphia Phillies have thought that this was the most he could not. But given the setting Wednesday, he found a way to top himself.

Halladay threw the second no-hitter in postseason history and the first since the perfect game Don Larsen for the Yankees in the 1956 World Series. He countered the Cincinnati Reds, the highest scoring team in the NHL this season in a 4-0 win in Game 1 of their division playoff series.

Halladay allowed only one runner on a walk to Jay Bruce with two in the fifth inning, and only a few hard hit balls. He struck out eight, with exceptional control of his fastball, cut into two sewing, gear change and curveball.

The game was bound to be memorable for Halladay, decorated right turn that had worked for 12 years with another competitor Blue Jays until the trade to the Phillies last December. His 320 career starts were more than any other active pitcher who had never appeared in the playoffs.

"It was fun," Halladay said last week, after closing the Washington Nationals to clinch the NL East title. "But it's only going more fun."

Halladay could not know the truth in this observation inelegant. He learned early in his career the difficulty of the non-striker may be, to lose one to two in the ninth inning of his second start as a rookie in 1998. It was not until this May 29, on the road against the Florida Marlins for Halladay to throw a no-hitter. He did it in style, with the 20th perfect game in major league history.

Its achievement is the starter Wednesday Halladay fifth in major league history to throw two no hitters in one season. The others are Johnny Vander Meer of the Cincinnati Reds in 1938, Allie Reynolds of the Yankees in 1951, Virgil Trucks of the Detroit Tigers in 1952 and Nolan Ryan of the California Angels in 1973.

It also continued a trend in the majors this season. Halladay gem was the sixth without batting since opening day, slightly less than the major league record in a season. Another potential source of non-hitter - a perfect game, in fact, by Armando Galarraga Detroit - has been ruined by blown call an umpire for two in the ninth inning.

Halladay, 33, went 21-10 this season, leading the league in complete games and sleeves, and he should win his second Cy Young Award. It was all the Phillies could have hoped when they traded three prospects to Toronto to do it, then it has signed a contract extension that could reach $ 80 million four years.

The movement has been something of a gamble for the Phillies, who traded their ace simultaneously 2009, Cliff Lee, the Seattle Mariners. Lee had beaten the Yankees twice last fall to the Phillies victory in the World Series.

Lee has remained an ace - now with the Texas Rangers, he beat the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday with a solid seven innings in Game 1 of a series of American League division - but Halladay injected a further element of despair for the Phillies' two-time reigning NL champions. If ever there was a danger of more and more of their complacency, their presence has cleared.

Justin Smoak and Blake Beavan

Did Cliff Lee cost the Rangers too much? Are the Angels looking at their three consecutive division titles as a finished run? Did the Mariners install the foundation of dynasty this afternoon? If this was the Premiere League, would the Oakland A's be a Double-A team yet?

Mariners get: Justin Smoak and Blake Beavan, plus two other guys that not only did not make John Sickels' Top 20 Rangers Prospects List, neither made his "Grade C Honorable Mentions" list either.  Read More

Cliff Lee Rangers cost too much? Angels are looking for three successive victories division, as ready to run? And the Mariners set the basis dynasty in the second half of the day? If this were the Premier League, will be carried Oakland Double team yet?

Rangers get: Cliff Lee and 27-year-old pitcher.

Justin Smoak and Blake Beavan, as well as 2 other guys who not only make the Top 20 John Sickels' Rangers Prospects list, did not make it "Estimation of C Honorable Mention" list either.

So first, take two C-Texas prospects and make them irrelevant trade nothing pitcher in Seattle. Okay, do boring deal. Jon, whaddevah.

Now look at the trade 3 months of Cliff Lee for Justin Smoak and Blake Beavan. Only two words need to be said to the angel fan on it: "Hey CRUD".

That is to say, "Oh Crud" this season, and "Oh Crud" in 2011.

Ceiling Blake Beavan is a right-hander Joe Saunders over MPH-still finding bats and a quick withdrawal groundball to gloves. In Seattle, which has # 2 starter this season and # 3 solid material for the next season to five years. AH CRUD

Sickles were Beavan, as # 16 preseason prospects for Rangers. "Closes Beavan thing we have in the range of C Sickels' + is Trevor Bell and Beavan is 2 + years younger.

Justin Smoak ... Hmmm ... let's see what SBN John Sickels say Smoak before the season started?

Mlb Trade Rumors

In what may be a very strange situation, rumors surfaced that Cliff Lee, who planned to break on the New York Yankees late in the evening could be considered in the Seattle Mariners in New York before the end of the weekend.

It may even be entirely possible that he flies from the Pacific Northwest and is manifested in Anaheim All-Star games in the strip.

Reports are in New York, sending top prospect Jesus Montero and second class A. baseman David Adams in Seattle coveted left-handed.

This move seems to make sense for seafarers. Seattle has made it clear that any transaction involving Lee should include the top catching prospects in return.

Nevertheless, while the transition to Lee would be very easy for any team that could make the right package for him, he gives the Yankees 6 above average starter for the rotation of 5 people.

Many of them have already suggested that Javier Vazquez, whose second term of service in New York was shaky, at least, would be considered a much-needed bullpen help or a new offensive force until July 31 trade deadlines.

Nevertheless, the case is still in its infancy, as well as in New York on their rotation can be answered if and when all is completed.

Yankees Need Ayson Wert

Hi Guys how r u ,Ayson Wert, outfielder for the Phillies, it is a lot of interested parties, contact with his team about the future of outfielder. If the Phillies do not stop Werth, and then there are a lot of other teams who want to grab a star MLB.

Wert will be a free agent after this season, and if the Phillies do not give this season, they are likely to begin negotiations with other teams. They will have until July 31 transactions since July 31 is the trade deadline.

Never just give Phyllis Wert free. They will look for bright prospects to show before they make any trade to send Wert packaging. The Yankees seemed likely the group that will pick Werth in the trade. Werth family and Reggie Jackson, a special adviser to the Yankees, have personal relationships that could lead to further affect the player to consider the Yankees.

Jesus Montero And Cliff Lee

Presentations to fly, that the sailors, some in the trade Cliff Lee Yankees, 2 questions leap to the forefront.

One of them, Lee would simply change the shape and move today against seafarers because he was scheduled to throw today against the Yankees Phil Hughes, Safeco Field?

And what is more important in the long term for sailors who exactly is Jesus Montero, 20-year-old prospect is expected to come to Seattle in exchange for Lee?

Although likely to be more than one prospect in the deal - and there are reports of second baseman David Adams inclusion - Montero is a legitimate, big-time prospect, which will be key to any deal will happen with the Yankees.

For the team paying for big-time power, it is not difficult to understand why the M's will jump in the Montero. He is a big 6-foot-4, 225-pound spectacle, although some believe he will eventually wind up as first baseman.

For sailors, what matters most of all a big bat and Montero, whether as good as projected by Baseball America, which rated him the fourth best prospect in baseball coming into this season for the impressive trio of Jason Heyward, Stephen Strasburg and Mike Staunton. all are making big waves league already.

Montero does not exist. He is currently Triple-ball this season and still adjusting to that level, reaching .253 with 6 home runs and 35 RBIS in 77 games. This in itself will raise the eyebrows of some, but remember that a child 20.

He came to the Yankees in 2006 as an international signee out of Venezuela, and showed not the best times in 2008, the class of the ball, made the team AA All-Star last year before breaking his finger and is now working its way up the ladder again.

This Montero unmistakable perspective? There is no such thing. But for a franchise desperate attack on the help and looking to get a legitimate response to Lee, he is as good as it is going to get.

Those screaming about getting prospects proved one of the best pitchers of baseball's U.S. must understand that Lee is a free agent at the end of the season and, therefore, has only three months remaining cost.

Mariners gave himself three prospects to get Phyllis Lee before this season, and none of these minor leagues - pitchers Philippe Aumont and JC Ramirez and outfielder Tyson Gillies - are nearby Montero in terms of projected capacity.

A Adams, he was 23-year-old second baseman in Double-ball at the time, hitting 0,309 in Trenton. He was the third-round draft to select for the Yankees in 2008 and may have potential, but it is obvious that the key to this transaction will Montero.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports also reported that Triple-pitcher Zach McAllister, a 22-da-years from the 7-5 record and 4.45 ERA in 17 starts this season, perhaps a third prospect for a deal in Seattle.

Now we just have to wait and see if it happens, or if the Mariners hope someone else jumps with even more advantageous offer at the last minute.
