November 11 Veterans Day 2010 will be a very special holiday for some as this is the day to commemorate all the soldiers who have served the U.S. and show our sincere appreciation and respect for what they did for the country.
Apparently, in 1919, USA President Woodrow Wilson made the official annual commemoration of the armistice in this country. "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day was filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in service of country and gratitude for the victory," said Wilson at a time, "both the thing that who has freed us and the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of nations. "
And with this holida, the American people also mark the day with parades, church activities and other school activities for children in either the same day or a week earlier.
