Stewie, a 5 year old Maine Coon who live in Reno, Nevada, has been awarded the title of world's longest cat-measuring just over 4 feet.
He beat another Maine Coon, just half an inch shorter, by the Guinness World Record, the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Cat length is 18 inches from tip of nose to tip of coccyx.
Stewie owners, Robin and Brandsness Erik Hendrickson, said they decided to inch its way into the record books after hearing a number of observations on the duration of your pet.
"The captive and the comments that really made us take a look at this," said Hendrickson, who described Stewie as a "little guy laid back." She added, "I could not say how many times I heard that he is the longest cat has ever seen."
Its owners hope that Stewie uses his newfound fame to visit classrooms and raise awareness of animal welfare.
"But it would not hurt to see your picture on a bag of cat food," said Hendrickson.
