Thousands of activists of the groups supporting the Democratic Party gathered for a march and rally on the National Mall on Saturday in an attempt to rejuvenate the enthusiasm of the more liberal voters and avoid an expected return of the Republican Party in upcoming parliamentary elections month.
Organizers said the event includes hundreds of groups representing Latinos, blacks, labor and environmental activists, and would be aimed at the demand for jobs, justice and education.
Beck has criticized the liberal response, in part because he said it includes members of social groups.
Speakers at the rally was intended to include NAACP President Benjamin T. Jealous and civil rights leaders Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
"We have to spend less on war breaks and tax for the rich of our country on 1% and increasing jobs and great schools for the other 99%," he said in an interview jealous.
