Eagle rock music festival 2010


The east side has become a center of Los Angles culture and entertainment, and music is at the center of the scene. That's why today marks the debut of In the Mix, a weekly column by Jennifer Cuevas, who will give demonstrations to local music events, news about neighborhood places, record labels, bands and Q & A with artists " make moves in the music.


This week's selection is the Eagle Rock Music Festival (on Colorado Boulevard between Eagle Rock Boulevard and Argus unit.) It's all ages, with many stages of stellar band s experienced and up-and-coming DJ's ... and best of all, it's cheap: $ 5 donation. So bring some comfortable shoes and an empty stomach. Mia Doi Todd has a sweet, soulful voice that fuses folk, jazz and world rhythms sensitive. She has a soft air it, but do not let the sweet filling. She is a seasoned singer with stage presence. 4 p.m.
At the global level and the future scenario Estate: Backpack (B DJs & Coleman)The duo known as Mochilla B, DJ and Coleman, is a tour de force of music and indie film photography. They have a large collection of vinyl records - from hip hop to world music - and his recent trip to the Middle East and Colombia have gained that music collection. A future scenario at the global and Roots: The Arabian Prince and Egyptian LoverThe innovative producer and DJ combo, Arabian Prince and Egyptian Lover, are probably best known for his contributions to the 80's and 90's hip hop and electronic music. (Arabian Prince was an original member of NWA, and had hits such as Egyptian Lover "Egypt, Egypt" and "Computer Love" that continue to get airplay today.) There have been many successes and some of the most important DJs and producers of our time.
The Gaslamp Killer is a transplant of Mount Washington, via San Diego, which has been spreading the gospel blacksmith beat Los Angeles to Europe. Their sound ranges from hip hop and dub step to world beat and experimental electronica. He is the co-founder of the weekly event, Low End Theory, where producers and beat smiths, their participation in musical concepts and battle it out on plates.

The Santa Cecilia is one part folk and part rock with a touch of Latin cumbias. Over the last couple of years, this band from East Los has garnered a large following, partly thanks to a soul singer and musicians command and experts of the group. The band performed recently in the season opener of "Entourage" and promises to bring a high energy set of parties on Saturday.
