BMW Motor Company Recall 350,000 luxury cars

BMW Motor Company is recalling about 26,000 BMW models in the United Kingdom and about 1,200 Rolls-Royce, due to a braking problem, it was announced. The recall involves BMW 5, 6 and 7 series vehicles powered by V8 and V12 engines from model years 2002-2010 and some cars Rolls-Royce Phantom from the 2003-2010 model years.BMW announced it would recall about than 350,000 luxury cars worldwide due to a problem with the brakes.
The German company said the recall was due to a failure in the braking energy system, but the cars were not safe.
The problem is leaks that may develop in the braking system.

A BMW spokesman said today:''We are writing to all affected property owners asking them to arrange a service appointment.
''There have been no accidents or injuries.''
Recall the UK is part of a global recall of 340,000 vehicles announced by BMW. This includes about 200,000 vehicles in North America.
The company said that a leak could develop in the electric braking system, which leads to a loss of vacuum and reduced power assist braking.
Mechanical braking is still available to slow and stop the vehicle, BMW said.
The company said that drivers who experienced a reduction in power assist braking should make an appointment for service immediately.
The withdrawal of BMW follows a series of recalls in recent months by Toyota participation of a number of different problems affecting around nine million vehicles worldwide.
