Wisconsin beat Austin Peay


James White beat a strong attack with four rushing touchdowns on the ground, as 11-ranked Wisconsin beat Austin Peay, 70-3, at Camp Randall Stadium.
Wisconsin, quarterback Scott Tolzien was nearly flawless in two quarters of action, completing 15 of his 17 pass attempts for 217 yards and three touchdowns.
White racked up 145 yards on 11 carries for the Badgers (4-0), who set a record for points in a game. John Clay added 118 yards and a touchdown in Wisconsin, extending his streak of 100-yard efforts in 10 consecutive games.
Badgers begin Big Ten play at Michigan State on Oct. 2.
Jake Ryan was 9-of-19 for 115 yards for the Governors (2-2), an FCS program that was coming off a victory in the state of Tennessee. Surprisingly, Austin Peay did not commit a turnover despite the uneven results.
New York took control of the game quickly, scoring a touchdown in their first seven possessions - the publication of a staggering 35 points in the second quarter - to go 49-3 at halftime.
Bradie Ewing and White ran for scores of seven and 18 yards, respectively, in the first two units of badgers. After Stephen Stansell drilled a field goal from 51 yards to put Austin Peay on the board in the first minute of the second quarter, White ran 66 yards down the left wing to put Wisconsin up 21-3.
Lance Kendricks Tolzien connected with a touchdown from seven yards for a touchdown Ewing hit three yards on the next Badgers' two offensive series. Clay scored on a 12-yard, then found Tolzien Jacob Pederson for a touchdown 10 yards to cap the attack in the second quarter, appropriately, with 35 seconds remaining.
After the break, White collected TD runs of 11 and 19 yards to make it 63-3 in the third quarter.
The Badgers were finally held off the scoresheet in 10 of the game disc, but Montee Ball rushed for a 10-yard touchdown on the next series of Wisconsin.
