We're just two regular season games of the NFL, it is too early to start talking about the playoffs, playoffs and homefield advantage.
But when it is so difficult to reach the postseason, it's never too early to think you might have an advantage here or edge after any game in a week - even this early.
That's why the eight teams that are 2-0 are in good shape, some more than others, and why teams are 0-2 in an early hole: History has shown that teams line 2 -0 reach the playoffs 64 percent of the time since 1990, 0-2 teams do about 13 percent of the time.
New Orleans Saints is one of the teams of 2-0 for the second consecutive season in the starting key NFC South showdown Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons in the Superdome.
While there have won both games by a total of eight points, what matters is both victories came in the NFC and against teams that set out the preseason to win the division.
That could be more important in late December when the playoffs start to come into focus and if the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers, both 0-2, back in the race in their respective divisions.
It is also an advantage for the Saints when you realize that they are 2-0 in the NFC, which could be useful if you are chasing the home-field advantage as they were in December.
