church of body modification


For Ariana Iacono, jewels he wears on his nose ring is just a fashion statement. It is a symbol of their faith, the belief that one flesh modify and manipulate strengthens the bond between mind, body and soul. His school, however, said that the nose ring is just a dress code violation and the reasons for the suspension.
14-year-old Ariana and her mother, Nikki, are members of the Church of Body Modification. website of the church, which is not for the squeamish, professes the belief in body modification as "one of the safest and most responsible society to stay spiritually healthy and whole." Encourage piercings, tattoos, scarification, as well as cosmetic and reconstructive surgery as a means to control and subvert the body's biological physical development.
And yes, it is a true church, incorporated as a non-profit, tax-exempt.
But despite the apparent legitimacy of faith s Ariana, administrators at Clayton High School near Raleigh, North Carolina, she has been suspended for refusing to remove her nose ring. Mom says Nikki, in doing so, the school is violating its own dress code policy, which allows exemptions for religious reasons.
