"The message we are trying to send is more important that people are offended, Terry Jones defended his self-proclaimed" International Day to burn a Koran. "
Pastor Terry Jones of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida has plenty of reasons why your day the Koran-burning should continue. After all, he believes that the mere fact of offending people that religion should not prevent continue with your case. He has the audacity to say that "Moderate Muslims must be on our side", despite burning their holy book.
"We wanted to remember those who were brutally murdered on September 11 and, in fact, we wanted to send a clear message to the radical element of Islam," Jones told CNN.
Jones goes on to say that those who practice Islam are welcome in the U.S. and that this message is not one of hatred. However, he speaks of the "dangers of Islam" and the pastor is reportedly the author of a book entitled "Islam is the devil."
General Petraeus said that the demonstration of the Dove World Outreach Center can be a huge setback in Afghanistan and could jeopardize the troops.
"It could endanger the troops and could jeopardize the overall effort in Afghanistan," Petraeus said in a statement issued Monday.
