What Are Vaccine Deaths

Each year at this time, people start deciding whether or not to get a flu shot. Usually, in the case of the elderly, doctors suggest getting one every year. However, when a person is younger, there is much debate about whether or not one should be given the vaccine.

With the deaths of vaccines in general on the rise lately, definitely there should be some concern about any kind of vaccination. In just this week, there have been 89 deaths reported in India by the swine flu. Doctors are not suggesting people receive the H1N1 vaccine.

However, also in India, recently there have been four children have died moments after receiving a measles vaccine. Children are said to have collapsed and died after being vaccinated.

When it comes to deciding if you or your children should be vaccinated, it is always best to consult your doctor for advice. Talk with him / her about the risk factors before proceeding with any vaccine. The flu virus can be a deadly virus itself, if it's just the regular flu, or H1N1. In general, the risk factors are largely offset by the beneficial effects of a preventive vaccine can provide, but not always. Talk to your doctor.
