Tennessee Election Results 2010


The Republican primary for the nomination of the provincial share of mud slung by the time candidates. At one point, Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam and U.S. Representative Zack Wamp throwing accusations at each other with regard to gambling interests.

On Thursday, the 2 men went to war in the polls and Haslam came out the winner when the election results are final Tennessee. Haslam will be the candidate of the Republican Party to become the next governor of Tennessee.


As the election approached and the calendar turned to June, WAMP took the first shot. Camp Wamp sent out a press release in which the candidate doubt that the family Haslam was interested in gambling. The family owns Pilot Travel Centers Haslam in several states where gambling in casinos is legal. Wamp suggested that the partnership can be formed between business and gambling interests.

Haslam immediately denied this and has begun to make some accusing it of their own. Haslam campaign claimed that they took Wamp contributions Cherokee Business Political Action Committee. Committee openly represents the interests of gambling at Indian casinos.

Lee gambling allegations or not, are not important to voters on Thursday. Haslam won 50 percent of Republican primary vote.Wamp finished second, 20 percentage points behind Haslam. Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey finished in third with 22 percent of the vote. Ramsey was injured perception legislators currently in office.

Tennessee is just one of many states that will hold primaries, run-up to midterm elections in November. In most states, gambling is a key issue with which candidate comes out on top.

In recent years, the casino boom occurred in the U.S., as well as the importance of this issue can be seen only in the race governor of Alabama. Applicants drawn lines in the sand along party lines on gambling question, looking from the Republicans to maintain the status quo and the Democratic front runner Ron Sparks hoping to regulate gambling in the country.
