Stevie Ray Vaughan Anniversery Today

Blues great guitarist and a native of Oak Cliff, Stevie Ray Vaughan died 20 years ago today in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin.

Three days later, on August 30, 1990, was buried near the tomb of his father in Laurel Land Cemetery in Oak Cliff.

Is not it time to publicly and permanently Dallas honor of Stevie Ray? That's what Metro columnist Jack Floyd question in today's DMN. And should not Oak Cliff, the place - to say that a statue or a park or a street renamed for the son of the country?

Read some tributes to SRV here.

And check out this history of Oak Cliff author Gayla Brooks Kokel in the Advocate.
