Hurricane Earl Near To Ocracoke Island


The latest updates show that the prognosis for the cone of Hurricane Earl has finally shifted to the east. That leaves the Outer Banks in the forecast cone, but remove the rest of northeastern North Carolina and Hampton Roads.
Earlier this afternoon, North Carolina officials announced that there will be an evacuation of Ocracoke Island beginning on Wednesday at 5 am At this time, tourists were ordered to leave the island, but residents throughout the year have the option to stay.
A hurricane warning has been officially published for much of the North Carolina coast as Hurricane Earl approaches. This includes Pasquotank, Camden, Currituck inside, Bertie, Chowan, Perquimans and the Outer Banks.
