Sarah Kaufman Fight With Roxanne Modafferi


Sarah Kaufman trash talk leading up to its title defense against Roxanne Modafferi on Friday night had more in common with Strikeforce, than her opponent.

Relegated to a supporting role at the event applicants in Everett, Wash., she was not very happy with her treatment, as the champion in action.

Most speak in defense Strikeforce to focus on the last page Kaufman decision three fights, but this argument does not intend to detain more.



After two rounds with a punching jerks skill mixed with a lot of clinch work, Kaufman put a sign on Modafferi, that before you thought Matt Hughes and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Later in the third round, tiring Modafferi pulled Kaufman in its protection, search armbar. Kaufman said, picking up Modafferi and slamming it down. Modafferi's head bounced off mat, putting her in a swoon.

"Give me the main card guys Showtime. I think I deserve it.

Del Rosario pushed the tempo from the start, showing his Muay Thai skills through bruises kicking and driving his knees. Mae has made the fight, though, landing a stunning blow to the body Del Rosario. But he could not keep up with the attacks Del Rosario.

Clutching at the end of a round hole, Del Rosario went to one knee to the head of Mahe as the Hawaiian bent. Then he went to his knees to the body of Mahe, causing him to fall to one knee, with the judge intervened in the appeal to stop the fight.

"I'm ready to move on, to increase competition," said Del Rosario, who improved his record to 10-0 to victory.

He can now turn to a fight with former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski and sounds ready for the challenge.

"He's a great fighter. I have always been a fan of him," said Del Rosario. "This will ultimately test for me. I'm in front of her."

Making his third start for Strikeforce, Bobby Voelker took the minimum split decision over Cory Devela welterweight title fight. The battle was heterogeneous clinch and ground and pound, with a seemingly Devela in control most of the battle. But the judges saw it differently, two of them scored it in favor of Voelker.

Voelker win puts back on track after the victory, losing to Roger Bowling Strikeforce Candidates 8. For Devela, the loss was its third straight and leave him looking for a way to right the ship.

Mike Kyle, when expelled from the sport it in the ring of anger management issues, reformed and became one of the most promising fighters in the light heavyweight division in Strikeforce. He scored his sixth straight victory in a hard fight with Ron "Abongo" Humphrey on Friday evening.

Kyle started strong with boxing, but he was almost submitted several times in the first round. He bounced back to end of Round 1 with 2 flying lap before the end of the fight in round 2. He took Humphrey down early in the second round, quickly move to full mount, and then return Humphrey and submit it to the rear naked choke.

The victory could set up Kyle shot at the winner on Aug. 21 title fight between 205-pound champion Muhammad "King Mo" Lawal and challenger Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcanti.

"God's been very good to me. It's just a stepping stone. God has a lot planned for me. I'm ready for things to open," Kyle said after the fight, stopping just shy to say he should get a shot at the title. "When God blesses me the opportunity, I'll be ready for this."

Washington fighter Caros Fodor dominated Tomas Diagne in the opening bout on Showtime, dropping Cung Le trained fighter twice in the first minute with short left hooks. He Diagne in several attempts to submission, but controlled most of the fight against clinch, unable to finish it. Fodor, however, to go with a unanimous decision.
