Knoxville News-Sentinel


Tennessee freshman WR Da'Rick Rogers was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a melee in the bar Knoxville, Knoxville News-Sentinel reported.

Rodgers, a 5-star set, who switched his commitment from Georgia is the only player charged so far, but there are other players reportedly involved in a fight.

In Knoxville Police, a group of players were involved in a quarrel with a man inside the bar. The fight spilled outside. Robert Capouellez, off-duty police officer tried to intervene but was shot in the head and fell unconscious on the street. Once on the ground he was kicked several times before the suspect fled. Capouellez is in hospital from head wounds.

Male victims in the fight and was hospitalized.

Two other players, WR Denarius Moore, and DT Montori Hughes questioned about the attack on Capouellez, police said.

Knoxville Police Department, U.S. Darrell Debusk told the newspaper that most people who have been detained, "seem to be associated with the football program, UT".
