Starring Akshay Kumar and Tamil actress Trisha Krishnan in the lead role, the film deals with humor and raises the issue of corruption and bribery in public institutions.

The film Khatta Meetha revolves around Akshay Kumar, who plays the character of Sachin Tichkule. Sachin is struggling road contractor. He wants to be a big man but faces a number of obstacles due to corruption in the municipality.
Things turn ugly when he believes that the municipal commissioner of his ex-girlfriend. Trisha played the Municipal Commissioner, Mrs. Ganpule in the film, who hates Sachin.
The film shows a picture of corruption and the dilemma of a man who works office to office to get his job.
