Grim Sleeper Killer Arrested

Suspected serial killer, called "Grim" mole "for the 13-year hiatus between his rows of 11 murders, was arrested on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Lonnie David Franklin Jr., 57, was arrested at his home in the southern part of Los Angeles on suspicion of being "connected" Grim Sleeper murders - 8 from 1985-1988, and three from 2001-2007, said LAPD Representative Gus Villanueva
. He said the department will provide more detailed information about the arrest and the probe on Thursday at a press conference.

Grim Sleeper killer was linked to the murder of a man and 10 women, many of them prostitutes, who had been raped before being shot with a small caliber pistol, said LAPD Detective Dennis Kilcoyne.


Most of the killings occurred in the run-down town, the southern regions, and the bodies were dumped in the alleys and trash bins in the area. Los Angeles authorities have offered 500 thousand dollars reward for information leading to the arrest Grim sleeping.
