Show short in the category of "Outstanding Comedy Series' and Stonestreet, Fred Willard, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Sofia Vergara, have been nominated for his role in this program.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Stonestreet O'Neill said that should have been recognized as well.
"We shot that Ed did not get the candidates," he said. "He does not think of ourselves as a leading man, but if he thought he was [as such], perhaps he would have been recognized."
2010 Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on August 29.
