Alaska Earthquake Information Center


Earthquake Information Center in Alaska said magnitude 5.0 earthquake rocked Anchorage and other communities in southcentral Alaska, but no reports of damage.

The earthquake was recorded at 7:15 Wednesday night.

Geophysicist Randy Baldwin of the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado, said the Centre's website has received over 600 reports from those who felt the tremor.
Most reports came from the area of Anchorage. It was also noted at Fort Richardson, Elmendorf Air Force Base and the community Wasilla, Palmer and Chugiak.

It was concentrated about 50 miles north-northwest of Anchorage at a depth of 13 kilometers
