Tropical Storm Alex 2010


Blame Alex a financial pinch you feel at gas stations this week.Analysts say that the first-named storm of 2010 Atlantic hurricane season, Alex, caused concern among investors about its potential to disrupt oil production in the Gulf of Mexico.
Crude oil prices rose $ 1.69 per barrel. Another seasonal factor for the increase in gas prices higher than projected growth in demand during the upcoming Independence Day holiday weekend.


"When a storm name announced, which could affect oil production, it is very common to see crude oil prices rise in response," said Jessica Brady, Manager of Public Relations AAA.

"Retail gas prices will increase slightly this week before the weekend's Independence Day. Consumers can expect the retail price of gas is between $ 2,70 $ 2,80 and during the holiday weekend," said Brady.

State of, gas prices rose by about a penny per gallon last week.
