Soumaya responded almost immediately, turning in discomfort, before falling to the ground. His right hand was visibly shaking, and tigers Greg Laird sight – was 60 meters from Zumaya at the time of the injury – said he heard the “pop”.
Zumaya, who has a history of injury trouble, is known for pitching at very high speeds. He was once clocked throwing a step in 104 miles / h.
After the game, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said: “This obviously did not look good. It’s awful bad feeling when you see something like this happen to anybody.?
